Saturday's Potluck!

So, I drove out to the potluck on Saturday to sunshine's house in Dallas, Georgia...
My father went with me because he is very interested in raw foods. When we got there we were greeted warmly as if we were old friends visiting. The raw food displayed on the table were mouth watering (I will post pictures tonight when I get home!). I brought some kind of a pasta dish with tomato sauce and some mushrooms on top. It was not my favorite I have made but it was decent and every seemed to like it enough. I also brought some macaroons, now those did not last long at all! Sunshine said they melted in her mouth and they really do melt in your mouth! The spread consisted of: mint meltaways (little chocolate pieces with mint toppings - to die for!), choclate banana pies and mango banana pies (they were too cute and delicious!), spicy flax crackers (which by the way, sunshine gave me an entire bag, so nice of her!) with a guacamole dip, there was a tray of pineapple and mango and dates and some lemon water. All in all everything was very good! We stayed for two and a half hours. Sunshine talked about how raw foods helped her son with his autism and she showed me before and after pictures of she and her husband. She lost one hundred pounds eating raw food! Her husband also eats raw food and he lost quite a bit of weight as well. Another woman there for raw foods told me how she got into raw foods because her husabands cholesterol was so high. So, we all talked about recipes, lifestyles, and just life in general. I can't wait until the next meetup and sunshine says that next time she is making pizza and choclate truffles...yum...
Again, stay tuned because the pictures of everything are mouthwatering! Tonight I will post them!

  2. BTW...YAY I can comment on your blog now :) I think the last time I tried, I was trying to give you some good tips for a marinara you made that you weren't crazy about.
