Brad's Raw Chips

Yesterday I received a package in the mail from Brad's Raw Chips! I was so excited to get these in the mail, it almost felt like Christmas time! As you can see I was sent three flavors: kale, bell pepper, and sweet potato! Before I go into the details of my review I want to give you more background about how Brad's Raw Chips got started. In 2001 Brad Gruno decided he wanted a healthier lifestyle. His Aunt showed him a DVD about the raw food diet and he decided to give the diet a try. During this time he lost forty pounds in three months and his high cholesterol dropped to almost perfect levels. While eating raw he wanted to find a way to meet his desire for a savory crunchy snack. He then created his own healthy raw vegan chip. The organic veggies used in his chips are all bought from local farms, are dehydrated below 115 degrees and are ground and mixed with flax seeds, buckwheat groats and various spices. My Review: When I got my package of Brad's Raw Chips last night I could not help but sample a few of each flavor. The first thing I noticed when I opened up the chip bags were how full the bags were of raw chips. Not like regular potato chips I used to buy (it has been years since I had a potato chip :-) where half of the bag was full of air. There is also a resealable zip Lock top, so you can have a few and save some for later. My favourite flavor was the sweet potato because I tend to have more of a sweet tooth. However, I also enjoyed the flavor of the red bell pepper and the kale (I liked that I was getting kale into my body via a yummy chip!). Today I made a salsa dip to go with my chips and for lunch I took out a handful from each bag and ate the chips with my salsa. I enjoyed all of the flavors and especially enjoyed having something to dip into my salsa! As you know from my site I am a fan of making flax crackers but I really liked that I got to enjoy a snack without having to make it myself! I give Brad's Raw Chips Five out of Five Stars!! I still have lots of chips left so I look forward to enjoying them the rest of the week. I also can't wait to try the other flavors. I especially wand to try the chedder flavor and the sun dried tomato flavor!
