Thanksgiving Dinner

I have been preparing thanksgiving side dishes all afternoon and it has been a lot of fun. I am going up to Chattanooga for Thanksgiving to visit with my family. We drive up tomorrow morning and stay until Friday. My family has gotten used to me bringing my own dishes to share with everyone and to eat myself and they are starting to request their favorites. One of the best ways to enjoy Thanksgiving with family members who do not eat the way you do is to bring your own food with plenty to share! This way you can share how delicious healthy food really can be! My cousin loves the spiced apple dish I brought last year so I made it again this year. Thursday night I will be making raw chocolates with one of my cousins who is a young teenager. I bought snowflakes and Christmas present molds so I am looking forward to that. The dried apples that I made are more just to munch on before and after dinner and to share with the family. They are so simple and easy and taste great! I will share the recipe below. For now, my full menu is as follows:

Thanksgiving Dinner:

Spiced Apples

Chicken Salad

Green Bean Casserole

Chocolate Raspberry Pie

Raw Chocolate Candy

Appetizer:

Dried Apples

Dried Apples Recipe:

Cut 4-5 apples thinly and place on a dehydrator tray at 115 degrees for eight hours. Take out and eat! This serving is a good amount for a family of five or six to snack on.

  1. SO wonderful - love that you get to share, care for you, and teach through example all at the same time. Beautiful.
