So, I have not written on this blog in a couple of months. Well, I am inspired to begin writing again now. I have recently made some very delicious raw recipes. I need to buy a new digital camera so that I can post them becasue my old one has not been working. First of all I tried the raw tace meat that is on the web site goneraw.com, which is a wonderful web site for people to post recipes and find recipes. There is a place for user reviews so you can see how other people liked the recipes as well, which I like a lot. I have made a fettucini alfredo, with a wonderful cashew cream sauce poured over zucchini noodles and sprinkled with mushrooms on top. I got this on gone raw as well. This dish had a wonderful looking presentation, took two seconds to make and my brother (non raw) said it was his favorite raw dish so far. I made a sinfully delicious chocolate pie, I got the idea from gone raw as well although i did not follow the recipe exactly. Basically, the crust was made out of dates and cashews, vanilla bean, sea salt and a little agave nectar. The choclate fillings was made out of raw cocoa beans, agave nectar, vanilla bean, and that is it. This is one of my favorite raw desserts that I made. I shared it with some cooked friends and they really enjoyed it as well. If I hadn't made a big deal about it being raw I think people would have just thought that it was a regular choclate pudding filling. NE ways, it was quick, held together perfectly without needing to be frozen and was de-licious! Those are the main things I have made but I have also been very inspired to make recipes from The Daily Raw Cafe, this woman is pure genius! Seriously, she has gorgeous pictures of the raw food that she prepares!! Also, the blog "what the hell does a vegan eat" is absolutely divine. Every Wednesday raw food recipes are posted and they all look wonderful to me as well.
Anyways, my goal for this month is to eat 100% raw. I want to have a lot of greens in green smoothies as well as yummy salads. I also want to eat fruit. I want to make some gourmet raw foods but for the most part I need a lot of fresh greens I think. I want to do this because I want to eat 100 % raw and I would like to lose about five pounds. When I eat even 20% cooked food, I have a little more of a stomach and my face gets a little bit puffier. (yuck). When I am eating completely raw I can tell I have much more of a *glow. I have been holding out on buying a dehydrater as well but I think I am going to go ahead and buy one because I think otherwise I will never be able to make the transition to raw foods. I have held out on buying one because I felt like it was not as healthy but I think it is still healthier than eating cooked foods. So, between the end of this week and next I week I am going to buy a dehydrater as well as a spiralizer and popsicle holders, so I can make choclate popsicles.
If anyone has any advice or words of encouragement I would be happy to hear what you have to say. Wish me luck!
