Why Raw?

A good friend of mine from high school posted this picture of a group of us when I was 17 years old on facebook. I am on the very right of the group in a checkered dress. So, this is me on the typical american diet as a teenager. At the time of this I did not feel very physically healthy and used to get sick all of the time with sinus infections. Now, at the age of 27 I am often times told that I look younger than I did when I was a teenager. Why do I have this blog about raw foods? What is my obsession with it anyways? Well, I wanted my health back and my life back. When I read all of the amazing changes that people have experienced eating the raw diet located here and here I wanted to give it a try. People go off of medications, gain tremendous energy and vitality. Discover the fountain of youth etc. So, just wanted to share this toady with all of you. Raw foods has changed my life but it is not the sole answer to life's problems. Remember that we are mind, body and spirit. We must address all of these aspects of ourselves, putting the best organic raw foods into our body, exercising our bodies with cardio, yoga, dance or whatever you fancy, putting good thoughts into our minds, thoughts that make us laugh and feel good about our lives, and addressing the spiritual part of us as well. Raw foods was the first step of getting my life back.
