Birthday Dinner
Today is my 15th day at 100% raw foods. I am enjoying eating just raw foods and enjoy eating lots of fresh whole fruits and veggies. This top picture was taken Tuesday night. I was out at my favorite raw restaurant here in Atlanta Loving it Live :-). I forgot to take pictures of my meal but I had spaghetti topped with veggies and a cabbage taco for an appetizer. Yesterday I made dinner for a combined birthday (my dad and Emily who is my brothers girlfriend). I made a pasta marinara dish with dehydrated mushrooms, onions and green bell peppers. Grounded cashews served as the cheese topping. It was a big hit and not a trace was left. For the birthday cake I made a strawberry shortcake. I used my own recipe and I don't think it was one of my best desserts but it did taste good. I think the cake could have used twice as many dates to create a moister cake. The cake was a little bit dry for my taste. Once I perfect my cake recipe I will post it here. In the group shot, my brother Stephen is in the middle and his girlfriend is to the far left. My brother is going to do a two week raw food challenge starting today. However, he is only going to be eating fruits and veggies and is going to go without the nuts and dried fruits. Emily (his girlfriend) is writing a college English paper on raw foods and so they both have been doing lots of research on raw foods. Between all of us it is insane how many fruits and veggies we go through in a week! I plan on doing an interview with my brother soon about his raw food diet and so look for that post. I am proud of him because he is only 19 and is making such great changes to improve his health :-). That is all for now, have a great day!
The birthday meal looks terrific! It's great that you've been able to introduce your family to Raw foods, and that they've been so open-minded. Congratulations on your 15th day of 100% Raw!
