Spring Water

Ever since I got back from Maui I have been driving up to the North Georgia Mountains once a week to get my own spring water. At the health retreat center I worked at in Maui all of our water (drinking, showers, etc) was spring water. I noticed such a difference drinking and bathing in spring water. I mostly noticed that my hair was softer than I could ever remember it being and I had good hair days much more often. I drive up to a national state park in Georgia, Amicalola Falls and they have a spring right beneath their 75 foot waterfall. I fill up two 5 gallon containers to last me for the week and then I usually hike while I am there and take advantage of the clean mountain air. Our bodies are 70 % water and so it is important to make sure we are getting the best possible water.
Tap Water
The EPA allows tap water to have chlorine levels up to 4 parts per million (ppm); a standard pool kit states that 3 (ppm) is not even safe to swim in. The Ralph Nader research group showed that tap water contains more than 2,100 toxic chemicals that can cause cancer.

  1. Is this true for all tap water? The standards are different depending on where you live. The area I live in has very fresh water, thanks to the giant lakes with little pollution nearby.
