Apple Cinnamon Flax Crackers

I love making flax crackers! They are so easy to make and the flavor combinations are endless. One of the hardest things for me to give up was tortilla chips because I loved the crunch I got when eating them with guacamole or salsa. Flax crackers satisfy that for me! Last week I made some savory cheezy crackers, I didn't take a picture but they were yummy! This week I made apple, cinnamon, flax crackers. The picture here is a staple lunch I have been eating this week: Organic Greens, flax crackers and guacamole. I took some of this batch and added raisins to make a granola type of flax bar. These were great as well!

Apple Cinnamon Flax Crackers:
2 cups of flax seeds
3 cups of water
2 apples
1/2 cup of honey (more or less to taste)
dash of cinnamon (more or less to taste)
(add raisins for the granola)

Directions: Soak the flax seeds in water for 1/2 an hour to one hour. Puree the apples in a vitamixer. Combine the apples, honey and cinnamon to the flax seeds. Spread on the dehydrator tray. Set the temperature at 115 degrees and leave in there for 15 hours.

  3. I will try these, I bet the sweetness I would like. Other savory flax crackers taste bitter to my taste buds. Can't wait to try yours. Sunday project!!

  4. Elizabeth,
I hope you enjoy these! Let me know how they turn out. I also find that flax crackers can be a bit bitter so I enjoy them sweetened even when eating them with savory foods.
