Extreme Couponing: Vegan Style

I first watched the show extreme couponing a few weeks ago. I heard about this show from many different people and I finally decided to watch it. The show comes on TLC on Wednesday nights at 9 pm. It follows people who save an extraordinary amount of money by using coupons. I don't remember the exact dollar amount people saved but a pseudo example would be a person going into Walmart with a bill of $1,000 and after coupons they leave the store owing $15. This is extreme savings we are talking about. When I first watched the show I realized that these people were buying a lot of canned good items, processed foods and packaged items. I realized that I eat mostly fresh fruits and vegetables and even if I could get some things for free I wouldn't want them. However, many of these people are also buying toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc and so I decided I might be able to use extreme coupining to some extent.
I found a website called http://www.freebirthdaytreats.com/. This website lists many restaurants that give you free meals on your birthday when you sign up and give them your email address. I found that if I was not a vegan I would have a lot more variety in the free meals I could receive. However, I did sign up for a few restaurants where I knew I could get some vegan meals. I signed up with Moe's and got a free entree. I cashed in on this today and I got a big salad with all things vegan on top. I signed up with the restaurant Benihana's and I have a $30 free gift coupon I can use to eat there. I checked their menu and they have vegetable stir fries, large veggie salads and vegetable sushi. Houlihans sent me $15 towards a free menu entree (they had a whole menu devoted to vegans and vegetarians), and a sandwich/ salad place called Which Wich sent me a free entree as well. I have used my Moe certificate as well as the sandwich certificate. It was great to check out with a total of zero dollars! My birthday is Wednesday and most of the places give you a few weeks to be able to use the coupons. Check out the site and see if there is anything that interests you! Have a great day!
