Yoga Pictures and Budget Tips...

These yoga pictures were taken last week. The gym I work at took them to create some new posters for my classes :-). I am on my 55th day raw and don't have any cool food pictures to post because I have mostly been juicing my oranges and grapefruit. I will run out of them tomorrow so I will need to go shopping soon. So, I thought I would share some budgeting tips with ya'll, I have gotten pretty good at penny pinching.
1. Entertainment - I love to watch live theatre, improv theatre and musical theatre are my favorites! One way I get to watch so much theatre is by ushering (for me this ranges from showing people to their seats to checking id's). I usually have to show up around an hour early to a show, I usher before the show starts and then when it starts I get to enjoy the performance with all of the paying customers :-). I currently usher at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta (the nicest theatre we have, many Broadway shows come here, I just saw Mary Poppins Saturday and will see Phantom of the Opera in July). I also usher at Dad's Garage Improv theatre in Atlanta (my favorite place to watch improv!).
2. Shopping for Clothing - I love to go shopping and buy clothes and anything really but I am a bargain shopper. I rarely go to the mall to shop because everything is so expensive! You would be likely to find me in a Ross store or if I am looking for something organic to wear shopping online :-). I also am very lucky to have a great friend who gives me lots of her old clothes when she gets tired of them and we happen to be the same size!
3. Food Shopping - I do go to the Dekalb Farmers Market to buy most of my food. It is the most reasonable place for me to buy organic decently priced food. I find that Whole Foods tends to be 2 - 3 times more expensive for produce. At the Farmers Market I buy some items in bulk if I save money. I tend to buy grapefruit and bananas in bulk most often. Try and buy when something is in season, the prices will be more reasonable. Finally, we have a good friend who grows a lot of his own food and come blueberry season he charges us ten bucks to fill up a gallon of organic blueberries! Yum!! He usually throws in some watermelon or something else that happens to be in season for free :-). Or get your hands in the dirt and grow some of your own food.

Well, thanks for reading and hope you can use some of these tips :-).

  1. First of all, you look great in those photos, so healthy and vibrant! I use some of the same tips for saving money. I frequent Ross and thrift stores for clothes and housewares (good thing I love anything old and vintage), and I love my weekly farmer's market. I've found that roadside fruit stands are also a great place for less expensive produce. My favorite entertainment is people watching, which if plentiful and free in Seattle :).
